Amjad Mahmood Khan

Amjad currently serves as President of AMLA. Amjad is Adjunct Professor of Law at University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) Law School and Partner at Brown, Neri, Smith & Khan LLP in Los Angeles. He earned his law degree from Harvard Law School, where he served as Editor-in-Chief of the Harvard Human Rights Law Journal. He previously served as Co-Chair of the Human Rights and Refugees Practice Group at Latham & Watkins, LLP. A member of the Council on Foreign Relations, he has testified five times before U.S. Congress about Pakistan's blasphemy laws and the persecution of religious minorities in Muslim-majority nations. He is a frequent lecturer on topics concerning the Islamic world, particularly human rights law and governance. For six consecutive years, he has been selected as a "Rising Star Litigator" by Super Lawyers magazine.
N. Mahmood Ahmad

Mahmood currently serves as Vice President of AMLA. Mahmood is a senior group counsel at Johnson Controls based in Washington D.C. He earned his law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law, Order of the Coif, where he served as an editor of the Virginia Law Review. He has testified before the U.S. Congress on the persecution of religious minorities in South and Central Asia on account of violent extremism, and participated in White House and State Department summits focused on countering extremism and protecting religious freedom. He has written extensively about religious extremism and anti-blasphemy laws, and his writings have appeared in the Washington Post and other periodicals. For three consecutive years, Mahmood has been selected as a "Rising Star Litigator" by Super Lawyers magazine.
Lubna Malik

Lubna currently serves as Finance Secretary of AMLA. Lubna works for Booz Allen Hamilton, an American-based international management consulting firm focused on strategy and technology consulting, in the DC metro area as Corporate Counsel, where she focuses on Corporate Governance, Corporate Strategic Transactions and International Legal Matters. She earned her law degree from The University of Chicago Law School and her undergraduate degree from Princeton University. Before moving to Booz Allen Hamilton, she worked for an international law firm where her work focused on mergers and acquisitions, securities and capital markets. She is a Co-Chair for the Princeton Alumni Schools Committee - DC/MD suburbs, which regularly interviews applicants to Princeton University. She also actively mentors young students in all aspects of academic achievement. She lives in Maryland with her husband, Ahmad, a management consultant, and young son.
